About HARC

Health TRUST Rockdale is the grant-making division of the Hospital Authority of Rockdale County (HARC). The trust was created using  proceeds from the 2009 sale of Rockdale Medical Center, formerly a public hospital, to LifePoint, Inc., a private-sector company, which later sold the hospital to Piedmont Healthcare.

The purpose of the trust is to improve the physical and mental health of Rockdale County residents through partnerships with nonprofit agencies and governmental entities serving our community. To date, HARC has awarded more than $6 million in grants through Health TRUST Rockdale.

Among its many investments thus far, HARC has supported programs aimed at promoting healthy pregnancies and infant care; providing transportation for mental health services; ensuring that homebound seniors receive crucial liquid nutritional supplements; screening low income families for chronic diseases; providing free mammograms to the uninsured; and many other health-related initiatives.

Nonprofit or government agencies working to improve the physical and mental health of Rockdale residents are encouraged to consider applying for a Health TRUST Rockdale grant. Details on how to do so are provided on this site.
