Priority Funding Areas
Below are the priority funding areas established by the Hospital Authority of Rockdale County; however, grants may be sought for health-related programs that do not fall into one of these categories.
Primary Medical Care and Dental Care Access
Health TRUST Rockdale supports the missions of charitable organizations directly providing medical and dental diagnosis and treatment services to the uninsured or underserved residents of Rockdale County. Grants may also be used by grantee agencies to assist indigent clients with prescription and physician costs, including required co-pays.
Health Screening and Prevention
Grants are available for agencies to enable their clients to obtain recommended physical exams and screenings. Test results provide a snapshot of current health and can reveal the need for treatment as well as opportunities to make healthy changes.
Family Planning, Prenatal Care and Positive Parenting
Health TRUST Rockdale provides funds to agencies to educate their clients on the risks associated with sexual activity, the importance of proper prenatal care and effective parenting skills aimed at promoting healthy families, both emotionally and physically.
Behavioral/Mental Health Treatment and Intervention Service
Grants are awarded to fill gaps in mental health services to assist individuals and families experiencing emotional or behavioral disruption, adjustment difficulties, psychiatric illness and more
Prescription and Physician Co-Pay Assistance
With the support of Health TRUST Rockdale, the Rockdale Indigent Care Fund was established to help pay medical bills for people who are either uninsured or underinsured.
Non-Emergency Medical Transportation
Health TRUST Rockdale funds programs that provide individuals with transportation to access important health services.
Healthy Lifestyles
Programs that promote healthy behaviors also receive priority funding consideration by Health TRUST Rockdale.
Health Professional Education
A shortage of healthcare professionals can have a negative impact on the quality of life in a community. Grants are given for educational training in a variety of healthcare fields.
Emergency Response
This funding category provides training and tools to empower citizens to assist others with medical emergencies.
Respite Care and other Support Services for People with Disabilities
Funds are available for agencies to provide respite care for children and adults with disabilities
